The Work Horse 4R70W is ideal for vehicles that are powered by engines with performance upgrades. We can build them out specifically for your application whether that be Towing, Off roading, or Racing. There is the option of 4x4 or 2 wheel drive for this transmission. Our 4R70W is rated for engines producing up to 450hp/500tq.
The Ford 4R70W transmission was introduced in 1993. It derived from Ford's AODE, the electronic version of the common AOD. In 1993, Ford began to switch their name conventions and thus the designation for the AODE was changed. For the 2004 and 2005 model years, the 4R70W/E was used exclusively in 4.2L V-6 and 4.6L V-8 applications.
