    The Hard Hat 4L60E retains its factory shift pattern and is a great option for stock vehicles that still want a stronger, longer lasting transmission than a regular OEM replacement. Hard Hat transmissions have a normal shift pattern for ease of driving, but are much more durable than a factory OEM replacement. This model has the option for gas or diesel applications.

    The 4L60E compatible with either the Chevrolet 90 degree Small Block & Big Block patterned engines including the V6, I6, and V8

    Because the transmission is electronically controlled by the PCM it is best to join the 4L60E to the engine it came with from the factory. Though earlier engines can be joined to the 4L60E by using a GM controller, carbureted engines will require a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).
